Disney Deception

Wait just one second here… You mean to tell me that the Walt Disney Corporation was designed to manipulate children into buying their products?! I’m sorry, but I have known for many years that at the core of Disney was pure evil. I don’t know anyone who didn’t think Lucifer had a hand in creating the “It’s a Small World” ride in Orlando. I’m not shocked at the use of psychologists to attract their target audience. As a matter of fact, I applaud them for it. They simply took the next logical step in marketing their product. Children are impulse buyers with almost unending funds (mommy and daddy). It was only a matter of time until someone decided to throw that book of ethics out of the window, so why are you surprised that it was the inventors of duck who struggles with Turrets? The truth is that it is unsettling, scary, and despicable, but let’s call it what it is from a pure marketing point of view— genius!

  2. Dan: I loved its a small world, but the last time I was there it was 20 years ago! Now, looking at it from a new perspective, its scary to believe I had to buy my kids all the stuffed animals and cuddly dolls.
I guess it will be tough to watch Disney movies without the fantasy and see the purpose. Good luck as you go forward.

  3. Dan, if you are still looking for an apartment, I may have one for you. friends own an apartment building on Federal Hill, about a seven minute drive from RIC and a block from my place. Owner occupied apartment house with off-street parking, three bedrooms, $995/mo utilities included, a good deal if you can scare up roommates. They prefer quiet & respectful tenants, so if you want a party place, this might not be for you. The number is 401-932-0977, ask for Daniella or Ben, you can mention I let you know about this.. Good luck.
